European Youth media days: young journalists from across the EU meet in Brussels to discuss politics and media

270 young journalists from across the European Union will meet in the European Parliament in Brussels this week to take part in the first European Youth Media Days event. The participants will be able to discuss issues of European interest with MEPs and representatives of the Commission and the Council.
The event, co-organised by the European Parliament and the European Youth Press network, will be opened by EP President Hans-Gert Pöttering on Wednesday June 27th and continue to Friday, where participants will debate European media and political issues, in 21 workshops. They will also produce radio and TV shows, newspapers, magazines and websites.
The participants (average age 23) were selected from among more than 2,000 applicants, and come from all EU countries.
The event can be watched live on www.youthmediadays.eu and a feature article will be available in 22 languages on www.europarl.europa.eu.
