Due to the hard work of our Board and event committee, this year’s benefit is going to be amazing! Held this year at the Chicago Public Radio Studios at Navy Pier, our event celebrates youth and their supporters, along with the Power Up Award recipient, this year CBS Anchor Antonio Mora will be accepting the award for Inspiring Work in Broadcast Media. Board Member and WGN Anchor Tom Negovan will be the evening’s MC for the second year and will have the pleasure to introduce one of our youth who will be performing an orginal song. Street-Level Youth Media educates Chicago’s urban youth in media arts and emerging technologies for use in self-expression, communication, and social change. Street-Level’s programs build critical thinking skills for young people who have been historically neglected by public policy makers and mass media. Using video and audio production, computer art and the Internet, Street-Level’s youth address community issues, access advanced communication technology and gain inclusion in our information-based society.
